When it comes to photoshoots, whether it be in Philadelphia or elsewhere, you want to come prepared to the shoot. This will make the experience go as smoothly as possible for yourself, your loved ones, and the photographer as well.


Things to prepare for:


Weather


Make sure you have clothes for the weather. If you are uncomfortable, it will show in the pictures. While some weather patterns like a random rainstorm cannot be avoided, knowing the weather for the day can let you stay a step ahead.


Traffic


Philadelphia is known for our history and also our traffic. Make sure you plan ahead based on where you are coming from and where you are meeting your photographer. Most likely, this may not be the only photoshoot of the day for your photographer so plan to leave early so you have some buffer to get to the photoshoot location, set up, and get ready.


Location


Similar to weather, having a location that has both an indoor and outdoor component can allow you to make easy adjustments, if needed. An indoor component doesn't need to be an entire venue but could be a gazebo in case of rain or even another form of shelter that is also picturesque.


Your Photo Vision


Take inspiration from photos you see and be sure to provide them prior to the photoshoot. If you love a certain pose for your engagement photos or want your family to have props for a winter portrait photoshoot, make sure to let your photographer know in advance. We can plan the location and the photo vision together to make sure the photos are what you want them to be.


Any other considerations


We want to make this enjoyable for you. If you have anything you may want us to know such as a recent surgery you mother had which may make climbing hills problematic, let us know. You may have a child who is a bit shy and we will do our best to ensure they feel safe and also let their own personality come out in a manner that fits them. These are all things we are happy to know and can make adjustments for.
